What lies beneath in dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS)?
Look below the surface in DDLPS
When we discover what lies beneath, a fuller picture takes shape
For nearly 50 years, the standard of care for locally advanced (unresectable) and/or metastatic DDLPS has not changed significantly. DDLPS is a liposarcoma subtype that poses a formidable challenge and is characterised by its local recurrence rates and poor overall prognosis.1-3
DDLPS is an aggressive subtype of liposarcoma comprising 15-20% of diagnosed liposarcoma cases2,4
DDLPS is associated with poor prognosis and limited treatment options in advanced disease2,3
Frequently seen in the retroperitoneum, the route to diagnosis for DDLPS is challenging2,5
A multidisciplinary approach is recommended for the diagnosis and management of DDLPS3,7
